This chapter “An Ant and a Dove” teaches the importance of kindness, helping others, and friendship through the story of an ant and a dove. On a hot summer day, a thirsty ant fell into a river, but a dove saved her by dropping a leaf. Later, when a bird catcher tried to trap the dove, the ant bit him, saving the dove’s life. Both became true friends. The story highlights the moral that when we help others, they will also help us in return. Along with this, students learn new vocabulary, comprehension skills, grammar rules such as different sounds of “S”, use of commas, question words, and practice creative writing about helping others.
