Science: Class 4: Chapter 8: Earth’s Weather and Climate

Lecture 1: DIFFERENCE BETWEEN WEATHER AND CLIMATE

Weather is the condition of the atmosphere at a specific time and place, including factors like temperature, rain, wind, sunshine, clouds, and humidity, and it can change quickly. Climate, on the other hand, is the usual weather pattern of a place over many years and changes slowly. Seasons divide the year into periods with specific weather, such as summer, winter, spring, and autumn. Meteorologists study the atmosphere and use instruments like thermometers, barometers, anemometers, and rain gauges to measure weather conditions and predict changes. Understanding weather and climate helps us prepare for daily activities and long-term environmental planning.
