Lecture 1: Women as Role Model (Urdu Translation and Word Meanings)

In this lecture, students studied the unit “Women as Role Model”, highlighting the achievements of four inspiring women of Pakistan. Miss Fatima Jinnah, known as Mother of the Nation, supported Quaid-e-Azam in the Pakistan Movement and inspired Muslim women. Dr. Ruth Pfau, called Mother Teresa of Pakistan, devoted her life to fighting leprosy and established many clinics across the country. Arfa Abdul Karim, at just nine years old, became the world’s youngest Microsoft Certified Professional and represented Pakistan globally in technology. Samina Baig, the first Pakistani woman to climb Mount Everest, also scaled all Seven Summits, proving the strength and courage of Pakistani women. Through translation, vocabulary, comprehension, and activities, students learned about women’s role in history, their struggles, and their lasting contributions as role models.
