This lecture explained that the environment includes all living and non-living things around us, divided into natural (forests, rivers, mountains) and human-made (buildings, roads, bridges) environments. Pollution is the addition of harmful substances that make the environment unsafe. Main types include air, water, soil, noise, and light pollution, each with specific causes and harmful effects. Air pollution comes from vehicles, factories, and burning waste; water pollution from dumping chemicals and waste; soil pollution from pesticides, plastic, and deforestation; and noise pollution from traffic, loudspeakers, and machinery. Both human activities and natural events cause pollution, which can be reduced through eco-friendly practices, proper waste management, and conservation of natural resources.
